The best of Tuesday’s action is at Goodwood. The feature race at the Sussex track is a 2m handicap (3:20). I’ve had a look at the race and for a Tuesday it looks a decent race if all nine declared runners do line-up.

Hi all,

It’s one of those weekends in the flat season where there’s lull between the big meetings. In this case between York’ Ebor Festival last week and Irish Champions Weekend and next Saturday’s Haydock’s Betfair Sprint Cup.

ITV4 are covering racing from three meetings this afternoon. Four races from Sandown, the feature meeting and two each from Beverley & Chester.

Victor’s Ebor Festival Preview – Day 4 August 25th 2023

I have enjoyed two days at York, but I will be watching the action on ITV this afternoon.

I have written Saturday’s preview on Friday morning so I can’t tell you if the forecast rain has arrived at the course. There’s also some light showers forecast for Ebor Day so if the rain does arrive in the expected amounts, it shouldn’t be as quick as it was on the first two days of the meeting.

Great prize money, great racing, and great crowds. Yes, it’s time for York’s Ebor Festival which gets underway on Wednesday. It’s without question my favourite meeting of the summer and one I want to do well at.

Victor’s Sunday Preview – August 20th 2023

It’s a good day of racing on Sunday we have Group 1 action at Deauville. A good card at the Curragh where the feature race is the Group 3 Irish St Leger Trial Stakes (4:35). There’s also final leg of the Sky Bet Sunday Series which heads south to Sandown and there’s a Listed race at Pontefract.

I’m beginning today’s preview with a look at the big race at Deauville. Sunday’s betting advice can be found at the end of the main piece.

Victor’s Saturday Preview – August 19th 2023

As I mentioned on Friday. Who knows how rain will have fallen overnight in Britain & Ireland. It’s going to be a tricky day of punting and given most of the runners have been declared on good ground we can expect a few non-shows.

A tricky weather forecast combined with York’s four day Ebor Festival starting on Wednesday and a decent enough action on Sunday with another leg of the Sky Bet Sunday Series at Sandown and Group action at the Curragh. I don’t feel the need to get stuck too heavily into Saturday’s action.
