Victor’s Wednesday Preview – December 6th 2023

Hi all,

Kempton Hosts a good all-weather card this evening with the Listed Hyde Stakes and the Unibet London Stayers Series (Final) Handicap being the highlights.

Haydock saves its best until last. The Veterans Series Handicap Chase may have only attracted six runners, but they’re all old favourites.

For a Wednesday the action is decent, and I will start with the Veterans Handicap Chase.

Victor’s Saturday Preview – December 2nd 2023

Hi all,

Guess what? We lost Newcastle’s Fighting Fifth card to the freezing weather.

More frost is on the horizon this Friday night. They’ve got those frost sheets down Newbury but if the temperatures do dip below -3°C, we might have to kiss the races goodbye.

It’d be a real bummer to wave goodbye to Saturday’s races, especially with the Coral Gold Cup promising the most competitive handicap chase of the winter.

I was hoping for better news about Fairyhouse’s two-day December meeting. However, that track now faces an early morning inspection due to forecast sub zero temperatures overnight. Just in case that meeting is on I have looked at the Listed handicap chase.

Victor’s Saturday Preview – November 25th 2023

Hi all,

We’ve got Grade 1 excitement on both sides of the Irish Sea this Saturday afternoon. Over at Haydock, it’s the Betfair Chase, which gets underway at 3:00.

Meanwhile, at Punchestown, the Unibet Morgiana Hurdle features the seasonal return of Champion Hurdle runner-up State Man. In a classic Willie Mullins vs. Gordon Elliott showdown, it’s tough to see him being beaten, even though some of the Willie Mullins runners have been needing their seasonal returns.

Inside today’s preview I’m focusing on the races being covered live from Haydock and Ascot on ITV. My selections and betting advice can be found at the end of the main piece.

Victor’s Ascot Preview – Friday November 23rd 2023

Hi all,

We’re kicking off the first of two days of racing at Ascot, featuring a seven-race card packed with handicaps. However, the total of fifty-four declared runners across the seven races seems a bit thin, considering the decent prize money up for grabs at the Berkshire track.

Inside Friday’s preview, I delve into the highlights of the Ascot card.

Victor’s Insightful Monday Selections: Strategically Curated Choices for Discerning Punters – November 20th 2023

Hi all,

Mondays with selections are a rarity in the winter months. Nonetheless, I’ve examined a Class 2 handicap (6:30) at Kempton, and both that race and the 2m handicap at 7:00 offer some noteworthy picks.
