Victor’s Sunday Preview – December 4th 2022

Hi all,

Poor day yesterday but your only as good or bad as your last day in this game and we have another day of high-class action to try to get back Saturday’s losses.

The best race in Britain on Sunday is the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase (2:55) at Huntingdon. At Kelso the Scottish Borders National Handicap Chase (1:05) is the highlight of an eight race card at the Scottish track

The very best of the action though is across the Irish Sea where it’s the final day of the Fairyhouse Winter Festival. The highlights of an eight race card are three Grade 1 races: The Royal Bond Novice Hurdle (1.25), the Drinmore Novice Steeplechase (1.55) and the Hatton’s Grace Hurdle (2.30). The latter race sees the seasonal return of Champion Hurdler Honeysuckle who will bid for fourth successive win in the race.

Sunday betting advice can be found at the end of the main piece.

Victor’s Saturday Preview – December 3rd 2022

Hi all,

After last week’s Coral Gold Cup, we have another winter highlight at Sandown on Saturday. This time it’s the turn of the Grade 1 Betfair Tingle Creek Chase (2.55). The Sandown card also features the Grade 1 Henry VIII Novices’ Chase (1.45).

The BoyleSports Becher Handicap Chase (2.05) over the National fences is the highlight of a seven race card at Aintree which also includes the Grade 2 Boylesports Many Clouds Chase (1:30).

It’s day one of the Fairyhouse Winter Festival. Although the best of the races of the two day meeting are on the Sunday card there is decent looking 12 runners Grade B Handicap Chase (12:42) on a eight race card which gets underway at 11:35.

ITV4 are covering four races from Sandown & Aintree as part of an eight race programme.

Inside today’s preview and its a long one I look at the best of the action from Sandown and Aintree and my betting advice can be found at the end of the main piece.

Victor’s Friday Preview – December 2nd 2022

Hi all,

Wednesday’s big hit just about came off with two winners. I fancied a few yesterday and sometimes you must go with intuition in this game. I’m kicking myself for not putting up Belloccio instead of the very weak in the market Jack Darcy in the Kempton Listed race, but the service just about squeaked a fifth successive profitable month and that’s what matters.

It was a challenging month though and I’m hoping December will be a more comfortable ride. I don’t want to be going into New Year’s Eve needing to pull it out of the fire once again.

I have selections from Sandown and Exeter and today’s betting advice can be found at the end of the main piece.

Victor’s Wednesday Selections – November 30th

Hi all,

One day left to try to end the month in profit. I have a few fancies on Wednesday and I’m going for a rare big midweek hit. It could of course all go wrong but It’s worth a punt.

Today I have selections from Lingfield, Haydock and Kempton.

Victor’s Sunday Preview – November 27th 2022

Hi all,

International race fans are in for a treat on Sunday morning (6:40) as its the Japan Cup at Tokyo. There’s no Arc heroine Alpinista for the race which hasn’t been won by a foreign trained horse since 2005. However, there’s a decent European challenge for the £2.5 million first prize.

It’s Troytown Day at Navan on Sunday afternoon. Besides the big race at 2:20 there’s a decent supporting card of races.

Gordon Elliott’s exciting novice hurdler American Mike takes on four rivals in the Grade 3 Monksfield Novice Hurdle (1:20). One of those rivals is the unbeaten Affordable Fury who won on hurdling debut at Galway 28-days ago and looks a smart prospect himself.

There’s also an interesting fifteen runner Beginners Chase (2:50). Among the fifteen are smart hurdlers Fil Dor, Saint Roi and Slip Of The Tongue who are having their first starts over the larger obstacles.

Today’s selection can be found at the end of the main piece.

Victor’s Saturday Preview – November 26th 2022

Hi all,

Newbury’s Coral Gold Cup (3.05), still known as the ‘Hennessy’ by many is one of the highlights of the autumn phase of the winter jumps campaign. The supporting races on the Newbury card include the Grade 2 John Francome Novices’ Chase (12:45) and four competitive handicaps.

This year’s renewal seems likely to share the sports headlines with Newcastle. There’s no reason why it shouldn’t either. Especially as it plays host to the only Grade 1 race this weekend in the Betfair ‘Fighting Fifth’ Hurdle (2.10). The Fighting Fifth will garner the headline because a certain Constitution Hill will make his reappearance in the race after missing his intended assignment at Ascot last Saturday due to the ground.

ITV3 are covering eight races from Newbury and Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.  As ever today’s selections and betting advice can be found at the end of the main piece.
