Victor’s Friday Selections – October 2oth 2023

Hi all,

Uttoxeter and Fakenham were both abandoned this morning they joined Haydock which had already been called off.  That leaves just Redcar which must pass an 8:30am inspection to see if they can race. If Redcar can’t race there won’t be any turf racing this afternoon and we’ll be left with just all-weather cards at Newcastle and Dundalk. I had a selection on the Fakenham card which now means I’m just left with one race at Dundalk this evening.

Dundalk

7:45 – Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap – 7f

Many Tears came from off the pace to win a handicap over C&D on her all-weather debut 7 days ago. Up 7lb and in a deeper race but is unexposed on the surface and is likely bang there once more.

She’s In The Game made it 2-3 over C&D when winning a handicap last November. Just two runs since and returned from a 4 month absence with a solid 1 ¾ length 4th of 9 at Fairyhouse last month.

Queen Maedbh won a maiden here (6f) last November and ran well when a 2 ¼ length 3rd of 13 here (6f) two starts back. Ran poorly in Group 3 at Naas 54 days ago but ran like something was amiss. The tongue tie goes on for the first time and the 3-year-old is interesting back up in trip.

Vadiana won a maiden here (1m) last December. Hasn’t really kicked on from that win as her connections had hoped but she’s put up a couple good efforts on turf over the summer. Was well behind She’s In The Game at Fairyhouse last time but she’s 1-1 on the all-weather and return to the surface could her bounce back to form.

I probably shouldn’t be having two selections in a race with just 12 runners but having left Guetapan Collonges off yesterday’s selections I can’t do the same today.

She’s In The Game – 1pt win – 4/1 @ Coral & Ladbrokes  and Vadiana – 1pt win – 13/2 @ Ladbrokes

Cheers

John
