I have a couple of picks from Newbury & Dundalk for you today.
Newbury
3:10 – Miss Fairfax won a mares’ maiden hurdle Exeter and mares novice hurdle at Catterick last season and wasn’t disgraced when a 4 ½ length 3rd of 9 in Mares Listed race at Doncaster last March. We haven’t seen the 7-year-old since, but she looks on a workable mark for her handicap debut and remains capable of more progress granted a decent stamina test.
Miss Fairfax – 1pt win – 9/1 – Gen.
Dundalk
6:00 – Roman Bull has been consistent, without winning, since the turn of the year and he ran better than 1 ¾ length 2nd of 9 here (1m 4f) last week suggests. The first time cheekpieces are applied this evening for the drop back to 1m 2f and Declan McDonogh replaces an inexperienced 10lb apprentice in the saddle.
