Victor’s Wednesday Selections – November 30th

Hi all,

One day left to try to end the month in profit. I have a few fancies on Wednesday and I’m going for a rare big midweek hit. It could of course all go wrong but It’s worth a punt.

Today I have selections from Lingfield, Haydock and Kempton.

Lingfield

1:55 – I’m happy to take a chance with Mobashir who is making his first start for Michael Appleby and the shrewd Horse Watchers. A previous course winner. He’s dropped down to a good mark and Jim Crowley is an eyecatching jockey booking.

Mobashir – 1pt win – 100/30 @ Bet365

2:25 – Chasing Aphrodite – A winner of his first two starts at Leicester and Newmarket before disappointing on handicap debut back at the latter venue. Back to form when a ½-length 3rd of 9 to in handicap at Southwell on his all-weather debut last month. As a prominent racer Lingfield should suit his running style and there’s stamina on the dam side to think he will stay 1m 2f. Stall 10 isn’t ideal, but he’s lightly raced, and I think he’s capable of better.

Chasing Aphrodite – 1pt win – 13/2 @ Bet365

Haydock

3:07 – Saint Xavier is potentially on a winnable mark and the 10-year-old was an encouraging 5 length 4th of 9 in veterans handicap chase at Cheltenham 19-days ago. That was his first start for six months and should be sharper today. He’s one to be very interested in.

In a tight handicap Coo Star Sivola looks on a good mark and must be respected on his first start for Venetia Williams. However, I’m going to take him on with another potentially well treated contender in Saint Xavier.

Saint Xavier – 1pt win – 11/2 @ Coral

Kempton

7:50 – Siskany heads the early bird betting for the best race of the day. He’s a worthy enough market leader but still looks plenty short enough at around 7/4. He face several interesting rivals. Stablemate Wild Crusade has improved on his last two starts for the fitting of blinkers. Finishing runner-up in the valuable Old Rowley Cup at Newmarket and in Listed race over C&D. Belloccio made it 2-2 on the all-weather, both here, when winning a Class 2 handicap over a furlong shorter last month. Despite the rise in Class, he’s not out of this on ratings and could be capable of even better on a surface that suits. Preference though is for Jack Darcy a winner at Salisbury & Newbury last summer wasn’t disgraced when a 4 ¾ length 4th of 10 in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes at ‘Glorious’ Goodwood. The 3-year-old looked unlucky when a ¾-length 4th of 6 on all-weather debut at Newcastle 15-days ago. Lightly raced and is likely capable of better.

Jack Darcy – 1pt win – 15/2 @ Bet365

8:20 – Duty Of Care, twice a winner for Sir Michael Stoute, has shaped with promise on his last two starts, here and latterly at Chelmsford for new trainer Jamie Osborne. He stays 1m 6f and could stay today’s 2m trip. Seems to be working his way to something and is worth taking a chance on here.

Duty Of Care – 1pt win – 5/1 @ Bet365

Cheers

John
