Victor’s Monday Selections – July 11th 2022

Hi all,

Having gone against Tenebrism in yesterday’s Group 1 at Deauville due to her early odds, only to see her win at generous 11/2, I’m out to redeem myself with a winner at Windsor this evening.

Windsor

7:05 – Just the seven runners for this Class 3 handicap sprint. However, it’s a competitive little contest with four last time out winners and all four of them have strong claims.

Bell Shot is up just 2lb for his recent Newbury win. |That came over 7f but the drop back to 6f should inconvenience the 3-year-old.

Amazonian Dream took advantage of some leniency by the handicapper to get off the mark for the season when winning at Bath 12-days ago. The 3-year-old who had ended his juvenile campaign with two nursery wins has been raised 5lb for his Bath success but could be capable of better.

Lequinto was back to winning ways over C&D last month. The drop back to 6f really suited the 5-year-old that day as did quick ground.  Although a 5-year-old he hasn’t had many goes over 6f and quick ground. Up 5lb from last time but the top-weight

A Sure Welcome made it three wins at Windsor when beating five rivals over C&D three weeks ago. The 8-year-old took advantage of a declining mark that day and showed a good battling attitude to prevail. He’s up 1lb for that win but remains on a competitive mark compared to last seasons best when he won off 1lb higher than today.

Verdict: At the prices I’m happy to go with A Sure Welcome and Amazonian Dream in the hope of a small profit.

1pt win – A Sure Welcome – 13/2 @ Coral & Ladbrokes
1pt win – Amazonian Dream – 9/2 @ Bet365 & Paddy Power

Cheers

John
