Its day two of the Perth’s April Festival. There are also jump cards at Warwick, Taunton and Kilbeggan. Beverley and Tipperary provide the flat action and there’s an all-weather card at Chelmsford. I have a selection from Perth and one from Warwick.
Perth
3:15 – A chance is taken with Pookie Pekan who put in a good jumping display when winning over C&D (good) last June. Poor run last time at Musselburgh but he had won at the same venue two starts back. He probably needs to dominate his field but if Crealion doesn’t take him on there’s a good chance the 9-year-old will get an uncontested lead.

Warwick
4:00 – Trincomalee a winner at Uttoxeter in October, off 2lb lower. The 9-year-old looked in need of the run when and more of a stamina test when a 12-length 5th of 9 at Wincanton (2m 5 ½ f) last time. The return to a sounder surface and back to 3m 1f is a positive and he looks worth chancing here.
